Difficulties in Diagnosing Adults with Asperger's Disorder

Diagnosing adults with Asperger's (now ASD) can be made difficult when there is only mild impairment. Hence it is possible for friends and family members to be interacting with a sufferer who does not exhibit strong and pronounced traits, but nevertheless there is a sense that something is "wrong". Because of this "hidden" condition, relationships may suffer undue stress, whereas if all parties knew what they were dealing with, and the person with Asperger's accepted the diagnosis, family and work life could be more pleasant.
